Description
A creamy, cheesy Loaded Mac and Cheese is the perfect side dish for any occasion!

- 8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
- 8 ounces mild cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced
- 2–3 green onions, sliced
- 1/2–1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400*F and grease a 3 quart baking dish.
- Melt butter in a large saucepan and add the flour, whisking until smooth. Allow to cook 2-3 minutes or until it turns “blonde”.
- Gradually add milk.
- Whisk continuously, bring to a boil and cook 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream and cheeses until smooth.
- Add chives, salt and pepper.
- Add the cooked macaroni, stirring to combine.
- Pour into the prepared dish.
- Bake at 400*F for 15 minutes.
- Remove and top with bacon and green onion.
