Description

A creamy, cheesy Loaded Mac and Cheese is the perfect side dish for any occasion!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 8 ounces mild cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced
  • 23 green onions, sliced
  • 1/21 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400*F and grease a 3 quart baking dish.
  • Melt butter in a large saucepan and add the flour, whisking until smooth. Allow to cook 2-3 minutes or until it turns “blonde”.
  • Gradually add milk.
  • Whisk continuously, bring to a boil and cook 2-3 minutes.
  • Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream and cheeses until smooth.
  • Add chives, salt and pepper.
  • Add the cooked macaroni, stirring to combine.
  • Pour into the prepared dish.
  • Bake at 400*F for 15 minutes.
  • Remove and top with bacon and green onion.
